An Overview the 2014 Senator Elections in Kentucky

I am sure we have all heard it and seen it. All of the ads trying to persuade us to either vote for Mitch McConnell or Allison Grimes. Some of us thought the commercials are annoying while others watched them because they weren’t sure who to vote for the election. No matter what the case, we were all on edge about who was going to win the election.

We can all say that the ads got a little spicy during the voting season. Both candidates were getting very aggressive with their campaigning. Some might say they were fighting too hard but I just say that is how it goes. Allison knew that she was the underdog in the situation and had to show people that Mitch wasn’t right for the position. Mitch was also feeling the same way. He knew that he was going to have to try his hardest because things were going to be different this years. He was going to have run against a woman.

Whatever you thought about the elections this year they results will stay the same. Mitch will still be the winner. Some people were absolutely thrilled that McConnell won, however this was not the case for me. This is the worst that could have happened. Mitch has had too many years and it is time for him to go! Someone else needs a chance. Now that he won Obama is out numbered. What is he supposed to do? The only good thing that came out of this is that now he can’t be the head of the minority party now. This was not a good election year. Especially for the democrats in Kentucky.
