The New Albany Floyd County Public Library holds many many events for kids in the sixth through twelfth grade. From Anime Club to Zombie Prom, (Haha, A-Z), there are many events to suit everyone’s taste. Meetings are usually held on weekdays from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Unless it’s a special event such as Promstuck and Zombie Prom. Events like that are usually held on Friday nights, after hours from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
On breaks from school, Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer, there are events held that have in the past been Mario Kart Tournaments, Doctor Who Events, Tie-Dye T-shirts, and Dinner and a Movie. Standard, monthly events are Anime Club, Teen Advisory Board, Gamer Club, and Un-bored games. Every event does have snacks if that convenes anyone.
Here’s a description of each monthly event:
Teen Advisory Board is a group of 6th – 12th graders who plan the events. There is a president, vice president, and secretary.
Anime Club is a meeting where anime lovers meet up to watch anime. Crafts and special anime themed snacks are sometimes part of the meeting.
Gamer Club is where you bring your portable game devices to exchange Pokemon or meet new freinds interested in similar games. The library also has their Wii and X-box 360 set up to play games. No M rated games.
Un-bored games is a meet up for kids who play Magic the Gathering,Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Yo or any other card or bored game.
